NDRIO Update: DRI Needs Assessment Preliminary Findings, Membership Renewal & Engage Blog

As our Virtual Town Halls approach on May 4 – 7, we are pleased to share in advance a summary of preliminary findings from the Canadian Digital Research Infrastructure (DRI) Needs Assessment consultations conducted to date. The materials are available on our Virtual Town Halls webpage in English and French in PDF and video format. They provide an overview of the Needs Assessment process, priorities identified by the Canadian research community to date, and the preliminary findings related to our four Town Hall themes: 1) Awareness & Accessibility 2) Governance & Policy 3) Operations and 4) Support.

We encourage you to review the preliminary findings ahead of the Virtual Town Halls to help inform these discussions.

As a reminder, registration for the sessions will be available until Friday, April 30. Following the Virtual Town Halls, we will post recordings of the sessions as well as additional ways to provide input via our website. To those attending next week, we look forward to hearing your feedback and perspectives.

Membership Renewal 2021 – 2022

Together with our Members, we have achieved significant progress in 2020 in our journey to bring unity, integration and collaboration to the DRI ecosystem. The year ahead holds promise for unprecedented growth. Thank you for your participation and contribution in shaping NDRIO and the future of DRI in Canada.

In early May, we will send Members our Membership Renewal package for 2021 – 2022. The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic continues to influence the DRI ecosystem, bringing about change that ranges from positive and revolutionary, to challenging and complex. As you renew your membership in NDRIO, please let us know if special arrangements are required with respect to fee payment. We will also be connecting with organizations that may be interested in NDRIO membership. If you know of anyone who is interested in receiving a Member application form, please let us know or have them connect with us directly.

Engage Blog: It’s a Matter of Trust

Whether it’s through consultation opportunities with the researchers we serve, or closely working with our valued Members, we endeavour to build collaborative relationships within Canada’s DRI ecosystem. Given collaboration and trust are core values of NDRIO, I thought it was timely to discuss the theme of building strong relationships in my latest Engage Blog. I invite you to review it and share your perspective on how we can better work together to build a world-class DRI ecosystem for researchers across Canada.

We welcome any questions or comments about our activities and updates. For more information, please contact me directly at Nizar.Ladak@engagedri.ca.

Sincerely,
