Allison Barr brings a wealth of transformational and strategic leadership experience to the position. As a principal of Chatham Consulting, Ms. Barr provided start-up, governance and strategy advice to public sector organizations. Previous roles include: Director of the Chief Scientist’s Office and Director of Research at the Ontario Ministry of Research and Innovation, where she oversaw Ontario’s portfolio of research funding programs. Ms. Barr has progressive experience in both the provincial and federal government in a variety of areas including program delivery and operations; communications and marketing; and policy development and strategy.
Ms. Barr worked in the Ontario Cabinet Office, providing policy and strategy advice, and as a Diplomat in the federal foreign service where she served in London, England. She is a recipient of the Public Service Award from Life Sciences Ontario and the Amethyst Award, Ontario’s highest staff honour. Ms. Barr holds a Master of Public Administration from Queen’s University and a Bachelor of Political Science from Carleton University.
